The film industry will release a main product (film) and then will release a poster and trailer for the main product.
This is the trailer for Moana, 2016, created by walt disney studios. The creators of the trailer are the creators of the film, with additional editors brought in, so the crew would be director, animators, and editors, as well as people that storyboard the trailer.
This is the official poster for Moana; and with Disney being a huge company they would've commisioned a publishing company to create this poster, however their artists would have worked with the publishers.
This is the official homepage for Moana on the Disney website. This uses the poster which would've been created with both Disney artists and outside artists, and would've required more publishing staff to create the website.
